Signatures in Hotmail

Putting a "signature" into an email is a handy and quick way to close your email messages without having to type the same information over and over. The signature can be anything you want from simple text to pictures and hyperlinks. This page will attempt to show how you set up a signature or even a "stationery" page using Outlook Express or Web mail programs like Hotmail and Yahoo mail.

Use this if you want to include a picture |
To setup your signature file in Hotmail, first open your Hotmail.

Click on the "Options" link. Then, click on the Signature link under "Additional Options". |
Use the text formatting tool bar to set up your signature. |

Type in the text you want to add. Then, highlight text you want to format. In the picture above, I've highlighted "Dwight". Click on the "Font Style" tool. I will set the "Lucinda Handwriting" font option. |

To set the "hyperlink" to AnswerPool.com, highlight the "AnswerPool.com" text, then click the "Insert Link" button.
Type in the address, and click the "Insert" button. When you're satisfied with your selections, click "OK"

If you have a favorite image file that is on the Internet, you can copy/paste the picture into your Hotmail signature. Go to the Web page where the picture is displayed and right click / copy it. Then, in the Hotmail signature page, place your cursor where you want the image to be placed. Press the Ctrl key and the V key together (at the same time). Your image will be added. Click the "Mail Option" button, then under "Personalization" click "Signature". |

Highlight the "AnswerPool.com" text. Click the "Create Hyperlink" tool (where you see the cursor) and type in the AnswerPool Web address. When complete, click "OK". |
This is setting up the AnswerPool.com hyperlink.
In my case, I also setup a hyperlink to my Web site. |

Check the "Add signature to all outgoing messages" option. When you're satisfied with your signature, click the "Save" button |
