Create Stationery for Outlook Express

Putting a "signature" into an email is a handy and quick way to close your email messages without having to type the same information over and over. The signature can be anything you want from simple text to pictures and hyperlinks. This page will attempt to show how you set up a signature or even a "stationery" page using Outlook Express or Web mail programs like Hotmail and Yahoo mail.

You can use the "Stationery Wizard" to quickly setup your own personal email stationery. |
Click on "Tools" then on "Options"

In the Options window, click the "Compose" tab. Then, check the Mail option and click the "Select" button. If you don't see any that you like, you can use the "Download More" button to find more options. Click the "Create New" button to use the "stationery Wizard". |

You can use the Stationery Wizard to create or modify email stationery. You can insert pictures or animated .gif signature files as well as hyperlinks. You can add the hyperlink to AnswerPool by adding a "signature" file. See the details here. If you find that you don't like the offered colors or other details using the Wizard, you create your own stationery from scratch. |

Another, way is to create a Web type of page. You can do that using "Notepad", or an HTML editor program like "Front Page Express". The image on the right shows my Outlook Express email stationery in small size. To see the actual file, click here. The following is the HTML code is for my stationery page. Shown in RED are the things you will need to change. You can copy/paste the following code into a Notepad file. Make the pathway change to the save location of the image you wish to include, then save the file as: ap_stationery.htm Be sure to save the image file in the same folder as the ap_stationery.htm file. The save location for most Windows operating systems is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\ and then the image filename including the file extension (like .gif or .jpg). When you change the pathway information, leave the "quote marks". You will need to set the "Files of type" box at the bottom of the Notepad "Save" window to "All Files". Now, to set the stationery page you've created, click on: Tools then Options |
|
|

In the "Options" window, click the "Compose" tab.
Put a check the "Mail" item under Stationery.
Then click the "Select" button. |

Once selected, just click OK and OK again on the Options window. |
