With this page I'm trying a little expericment...I have put together some short slide slide shows that attempt to demonstrate the most useful features (IMO) in IrfanView. You can download these slide and view them. The slide shows were made using IrfanView (of course).

Click on your either link below and select "Save". I suggest you save them to your Desktop, and then open them from there. You can also just click on "Open", then"Run" and run them directly. Once you're finished with the files, you can just *delete them as nothing is actually saved to your system.

You don't have to have IrfanView to see the slide show.

Download "Write Text"

Download "Resizing Images"

Download Scan Images with IrfanView

Make an image showing 4 (or more) separate pictures.

This is the slide show icon.

You will see this icon on your Desktop.

Open it to run the slide show.

*If you choose to just "Run" the file, you can delete the file from your Temporary Internet Files folder. To do that, open your Control Panel --> Internet Options and under the Temporary Internet Files listing, click the "Delete Files" button.

I.E -> Tools -> Internet Options

You can stop the show by pressing the Escape key.

If you don't have IrfanView, the following steps show how to download this free graphics program.

There is a link at the bottom of the page to the graphics program "IrfanView". The download steps are similar, for most programs. You may see some very slight variations between the pictures displayed here, and the actual download images because the author frequently updates the Irfanview program.

Click on the "Download" link on this page.

The "IrfanView Home Page " window will open.

Click on the IrfanView link (where you see the "Quick Tip" with "Download IrfanView")

1. Start the download

Click the "Download Now" button

2. Make sure that you're seeing this page.

Scroll down to the bottom and select the area closest to you.

Because the IrfanView program's author (Irfan Skiljan) frequently updates the program,

you may see a different file version number.

3. Choose your location

In our case, click USA

4. Find the area closest to you

In Alaska, click the ACS link.

For other locations, just select the location nearest to you.

6. Click Run

Click Run

Or, if you'd rather, click: "Save"

Save the download file to a convenient location (like your Desktop).

7. Click Run

When the download is complete, you will see this screen.

Click Run

8. If you saved the file...

This is the file that will be downloaded. If you clicked "Run" as shown in panel 6 above, it will just begin the install.

If you clicked "Save", this is the file that will install IrfanView.

The following images show the installation steps. Here you can make some preference selections.

1.To make IrfanView available to all users of your computer, check "For all users".

Click Next

2. Installation

Click Next

3. This window sets file associations. for now, I suggest leaving it blank.

Click Next

5. Installation

Click Next

6. Installation

I suggest you open an image and just begin experimenting with the controls.

I find IrfanView to be a fast and easy to use image editing program.
